WELCOME
To the 2021 Virtual Degree Show
It is with great pleasure that I welcome you to our second virtual degree show of student work. This year the website has been created by a small committee of 3rd year students and includes a wonderful introductory video produced by Sadhbh Nealon.
On display are the two major projects of 4th year, the team project sponsored by Combilift and the individual project which addresses problems and opportunities within the students own areas of passion. Together they demonstrate a superb standard of market ready, innovative solutions and include the top three placings from the universities entrepreneurship challenge. On display we include the contact details for each student should you wish to reach out to them.
To learn more about the BSc in Product Design (Marketing and Innovation) visit our website here, and for now, I hope you enjoy this portfolio of work and please do get in touch if you would like to learn more.

KEYSTONE PROJECT
The work here represents the major output of the BSc in Product Design. Each student is afforded an open brief to reflect their own passion for a particular topic or simply an opportunity to create a better experience for a target group of users. In completing this project the students have first been tasked with preparing a business case and then completing the design of a solution. Below you can see a sample of outputs including the project process book, visually presenting the end to end design journey, and a video pitch available for a sample of projects.

COMBILIFT
This year the final year students at Maynooth university were tasked by Combilift based in Annahagh, Co.Monaghan who are the largest global manufacturer of multi-directional forklifts and an acknowledged leader in long load handling solutions to develop a next generation material handling solution for the last mile logistics of heavy goods.
Our solutions address specifically the challenges and opportunities facing the company and it’s markets from 2021. Our design concepts are both human centred and future focused. We were responsible to collect and synthesize information while combining human centric insights and genuine business needs to create tangible and well-informed products and services.
